“Ceremony will be at Ghostbar along with dinner. The party will then move to the Hugh Hefner suite (including big DJ, etc.). Should be lots of fun since we’re both in the ” nightclub scene” :)”
From Brittany’s first email to us, I knew we were meant to be her photographers. We love Vegas weddings, we love Vegas itself (in fact we are traveling there today to speak at the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference), and we especially love the sexy, edgy vibe of The Palms Resort. We photographed a wedding at the Palms’ Hardwood Suite a few years ago, and were so excited at the prospect of shooting in another of the Palms’ famous Fantasy Suites.
Brittany and Michael both work in the Vegas nightlife industry – Brittany as a cocktail waitress at the popular club XS, and Michael as manager of several clubs and restaurants (he’s currently the director of industry relations at Taffer Nightclub & Bar Media Group). Most of their friends, and even some of their family members, work in the nightlife industry as well.
Brittany and Michael and their wedding party got ready in the Two-Story Sky Villa (formerly known as the Hugh Hefner Suite), which features a rotating round bed with a mirror above it, a huge, clear-walled hot tub that extends out over the city, and lots of design details left over from its Playboy days. That suite alone was like a huge playground for Ben and me – there were endless possibilities for the kinds of colorful, sexy, arty images we love to make.
The ceremony and dinner were at Ghostbar, which overlooks the Las Vegas Strip. Afterward, guests returned to the Sky Villa. There was a little bit of dancing, but the main event was that famous hot tub. It didn’t take long for everyone to take the plunge in their gowns and suits.
As wild as their jobs are, Brittany and Michael try to lead a pretty normal life as a couple, and are expecting their first child any day now. They have a deep, natural love; they have made a home together; and they will be wonderful parents. Theirs is a life we love keeping up with, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
And Brittany and Michael, we’ll see you (and maybe your new daughter) in just a few hours.
