It’s always difficult writing about someone we love so much because I never know where to start.
Our friendship with Katie goes way back. When we met her, she worked with Digilabs, our online proofing company, and was a close friend of the owner’s daughter, Yael (who also worked there). And because she lived in San Francisco, we were able to actually hang out and become real friends. We’ve had many nights out in the city for birthdays, New Year’s Eves and everything in between, several years of photography tradeshows, and, best of all, we experienced Yael and Or’s unforgettable Israel wedding together, spending several days touring around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and clubbing in Tel Aviv for Yael’s bachelorette party.
When Roman entered the picture a few years ago, we were curious what kind of guy this was who could capture Katie’s attention. Katie is a REALLY cool girl, and naturally we only wanted the best for her. But during the Israel trip Ben and I totally fell in love with Roman – his kindness, his sense of humor, and his ability to be quirky and weird with Katie. The two of them are just simpatico.
Katie and Roman chose the Willow Heights Mansion at Léal Vineyards in Morgan Hill, CA, for a ceremony-with-a-view. We were wowed by the stunning backdrop of the Santa Clara Valley as Katie and Roman said their vows on a warm summer day. The party afterward was everything we expected – and hoped – it would be. Lots of enthusiasm, animated toasts, and uninhibited dancing. Yael and Or were there, as well as our other good friend Yael (who also was on the Israel trip, and is ALWAYS the life of the party) and also Mauricio’s couple Lana and Chad, who were married last year in Burlingame, CA.
This crew has been friends a long time, and we are so grateful they’ve adopted us into the family and allowed us to be part of so many big life events. Here’s to many more nights in San Francisco and beyond!
