Kristina and Troy live in Los Angeles, and are some of the most internationally well-traveled people we know. But when it came to choosing their wedding location, it was always going to be San Francisco. Troy grew up in the Bay Area, and they both just love this city.
Most of their guests were coming in from other states, or even other countries, for the wedding, and Kristina and Troy wanted to give them a classic San Francisco experience. That started with a welcome party with lobster, clam chowder and Napa wines. The next day, their outdoor wedding ceremony was held at the iconic Palace of Fine Arts, where Mother Nature gave everyone the true San Francisco weather experience – high winds and frigid temperatures (in May).
The wedding party rode to the reception on a vintage trolley (SO San Francisco), and joined everyone else inside the imposing, ornate San Francisco City Hall for dinner and dancing. It was a night of emotional toasts, spirited revelry, and a few stolen moments outside of City Hall for portraits with Kristina and Troy (apologies to their amazing wedding coordinator Alicia of Alicia K Designs, who didn’t realize we had left and eventually came running after us in high heels when it was time for the couple to return for speeches. I’m still impressed she ran so far in those heels).
We were lucky to have our talented new intern Ryan Zhang join us for this wedding. You will see some of his photos above.
