After splitting up to shoot the getting-ready time at Zareen and Jonathan’s wedding, Ben and I met back up in the hallway to talk about locations for the first look.
He asked me how it was going with Zareen. “She is crazy beautiful – a dream to photograph!” I told him. Ben’s response: “Wait till you see HIM! He looks like a freaking movie star!”
It is true. Zareen and Jonathan are exceptionally good-looking people. Exceptionally good-looking people usually make me nervous. But these two are also two of the sweetest people we’ve ever photographed. On their wedding day – a Persian wedding at the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton San Francisco – they were gracious, patient, kind and always up for whatever photo idea we had next.
Another thing that struck me about these two was that, amid the swirl and chaos of their 200 doting guests, the fancy hotel, the schedule and the details, they kept their eyes locked on one another. They have been together since high school, but they looked at each other as though they were newly infatuated. The rest of the world seemed to simply fall away, especially during the ceremony.
Thank you to Zareen’s friend and fellow Bay Area photographer Haroon Ali of White Label Photography, who told Zareen about us, and who gave us lots of hugs and hilarious conversation as the night wore on. We felt extremely fortunate to be a part of this unforgettable wedding!
