When it comes to planning a destination wedding on the East Coast, Cape Cod remains one of the most relaxing, yet classy, places you can go. And without a doubt the classiest, most luxurious resort you can find on the Cape is Wequassett Resort. Our couple Elyse and Nick had their wedding on the lawn looking out over the water. It was such a picturesque, perfect setting, and when Elyse began her walk down the stairs toward the aisle with her parents escorting her, happy tears began streaming down her face. Their reception took place in the afternoon, and ended while there was still daylight, yet it had some of the wildest, most intense dancing we’ve ever witnessed! We look back on that Cape Cod weekend with fond memories of an amazing, action-packed wedding event. If you have your wedding on the Cape, definitely make a weekend out of it.
Here are some ideas for rounding out your Cape Cod destination wedding weekend:
1. Hire a private boat to take you and your closest family and friends on a tour around the Cape on Thursday. Some companies will provide lunch, or you can bring your own. Make a day of it, and get some sun on the bow while catching glimpses of the famous Kennedy vacation home.
2. Guests can spend Friday relaxing around the pool at Wequassett; in the late afternoon/evening, have your rehearsal dinner at Truro Vineyards for a more unique take on the traditional rehearsal dinner. Guests can roam around the sunny, lush grounds sipping various Truro wines while waiting for dinner to be served in the barrel room.
3. One of our Cape Cod wedding couples hired a school bus to cart the wedding guests around all week to all the activities they had planned. It made for a fun - and convenient - experience!
