Before Erin's family moved to Charleston, she grew up in DeBordieu Colony, a beach community between Georgetown and Myrtle Beach. She loved the summertime best, because that's when people who owned vacation homes there would come visit. She met some of her most cherished friends here. They spent the summers playing in the pools and on the beach, taking excursions into nearby Myrtle Beach.
DeBordieu is an idyllic place to live, and it's an idyllic place to get married.
Most DeBordieu weddings take place on the beautiful circular green lawn of the golf clubhouse, surrounded by ancient oaks and marshland. Receptions are held on the beachfront, on the Blue Heron Deck, usually under a tent. Out-of-town guests are able to rent condos and vacation homes through DeBordieu's sales office.
The best times to get married at DeBordieu are the Spring and Fall, where temperatures are more moderate. We encourage couples getting married at DeBordieu to make a week out of it. Rent a house, hang out at the beach, explore Grand Strand restaurants and nightlife, have fun being a tourist in Myrtle Beach. DeBordieu is only about a 15-20 minute drive to Pawleys Island and Myrtle Beach.
