For his 40th birthday party at the Charleston Visitor Center, Steve was re-Bar-Mitzvah’d. There was a candle-lighting ceremony, the hora, the chairs in the air, the whole bit. Oh, and of course the guests were all dressed in 90s attire to celebrate the decade of Steve’s original Bar Mitzvah.
We have known Lana and Steve and their sweet daughters for several years now. They’ve always been ones to think outside the box, so it was fitting that they couldn’t just have a plain ol’ party for Steve. They went all out with the 90s theme, a DJ who played 90s music, 90s attire, an ice sculpture, catering by Hamby Catering, gorgeous lighting and decor, a treat table with Rice Krispy treats and candy cigarettes. It was a feast for the senses, and everyone had an absolute blast (including us).
Lana and Steve let their very excited daughters – decked out in party dresses and Doc Martens – stay for the first hour of the party. They were able to witness all the love Steve’s friends and family showed him, as well as hear Steve’s heartfelt tribute to them and Lana.
Turning 40 is a great excuse for an epic party, but it’s also a time to look back at the life you have created so far. Steve has every reason to be proud, and every reason to know he is loved beyond measure. That’s a pretty great place to find yourself at 40.
