These Charleston wedding photos came as a result of Krystle and David wanting additional portraits in their wedding clothes, three years after their actual wedding.
They were married in Charleston three years ago, but recently realized they wanted more wedding portraits than they were able to get on their wedding day (which was photographed by a different photographer than us). So they traveled from Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they live, for a special anniversary weekend in Charleston.
We picked them up at their hotel and brought them back to our house, where they finished hair and makeup and got into their original wedding gown and suit. Krystle radiated happiness and she became a bride again. And David couldn’t keep his eyes off her.
We started in Hampton Park, then our own neighborhood of Wagener Terrace, and finished downtown at White Point Garden (also known as The Battery) and the historic neighborhoods South of Broad.
Krystle and David are a wonderful combination of romantics and total goofballs. We had so much fun roaming downtown Charleston with them, laughing at everything, finding beauty and making art rooted in the emotions and feelings of their wedding day.
What makes these portraits special, though, is knowing they now have three years of marriage under their belts. Their relationship is deeper, their bond is stronger, and they value each other even more. We are proud we got to witness that, and honored they chose us to create these portraits.
