Chris and John’s wedding at the Esperanza Resort in Cabo had one of the best beginnings I could have imagined. My flight arrived in Cabo just a couple of hours before the wedding party was to go on a sunset cruise. After a few mishaps, I missed the boat by an hour. So I hired a fisherman to take me out on his boat to meet up with the wedding party’s boat. We spotted them right away, and as my boat pulled up, Chris and John and all their friends started waving and jumping up and down and screaming. It was amazing to start off the wedding this way, being greeted by this young group full of energy and ready to celebrate.
After the cruise, we all went downtown to dance and drink, and I stayed with them every second of the way. On Friday we hung out at the pool until it was time to do a pre-wedding portrait session. I was so happy to have time with Chris and John to focus on creative portraits and just get to know them better away from the wild party scene of Cabo.
The actual wedding day was Sunday, and despite it being everyone’s third full day in Cabo, they were still ready to go all out. Chris and John’s vows sounded almost like a competition to prove who loved the other more. I listened to every word they said and was so touched by their devotion to one another. Everyone else felt it too, which was evident in all the tears during the ceremony and speeches. The reception was filled with more love, more dancing, and of course more tequila!
