Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Wedding
They started dancing before their salads arrived. And once they started, they never stopped, even after the bride and groom left for the night.
The island music they all grew up on, combined with a rain-drenched reception space that caused everything to move inside last-minute, brought guests to their feet right at their tables, unable to hold back any longer. This group was ready. This group was BORN ready.
Seema and Ryan’s wedding at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas was a celebration comprised almost entirely of family members. Their two families have known each other since Seema and Ryan were kids. Ryan and Seema grew up around each other. So of course they surprised and delighted everyone when they eventually fell in love.
Wedding in Paradise
The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar proved to be the perfect wedding location for two people looking to share lots of quality time with their guests. The Grand Hyatt is a huge hotel complex with casinos, dining and shopping. The wedding weekend started with an informal meetup at the hotel jazz bar. Then, it continued Friday with a beach hangout and welcome party. Saturday was the wedding day – ceremony on the beach, and a beautiful rooftop reception under the stars. Of course, you can never trust tropical weather to behave. So, mere seconds after the florists finished the stunning rooftop reception space, a torrential downpour began and ruined almost all of it. There was a period of chaos and uncertainty as workers rushed to save the flowers, candles and fabrics. The guests weren’t sure what to do or where to go, as the planners worked on moving everything to an indoor space. But once everything was settled in the new spot, this party was ON.
A Meant-to-Be Kinda Love
But underlying everything was true, soulful love. Ryan had a huge smile on his face the entire day. And Seema felt the emotions to her core. Their love gave meaning to everything that happened during their Bahamas wedding weekend, including getting through the curve balls thrown their way. As they go through life together, it won’t matter that they didn’t get their meticulously planned dream wedding reception on the rooftop. What will matter is that they found each other at all. More importantly, they discovered there was real love between them, a love worth pursuing and nurturing. That’s something to celebrate, on repeat, for the rest of their lives.
