We are destination wedding photographers based in Charleston, SC. The Vine Hill House is one of our favorite California wedding venues.
“It’s so much less stressful thinking that instead of shooting a wedding tomorrow, I’m going to my own wedding.” ~ Natalie, at her rehearsal dinner.
Oh, Natalie. Sweet, beautiful Natalie. Natalie is that girl that everyone can’t help but love. She just sweeps everyone off their feet the moment they meet her. She did that to us about five years ago, when she came in to interview for second-shooting work. We didn’t even need second shooters at the time, but figured we’d talk with her anyway because she seemed so nice.
We were immediately enamored with her big, genuine smile, her warmth, and her enthusiasm for photography. For several years she shot weddings with our associate photographers Aaron and Mauricio. But last year she and Cody made a full-time go with their own company, C + N Creative, which specializes in editorial and marketing photography. We have always stayed in touch though, and were thrilled when she asked us to shoot her wedding.
Natalie and Cody’s Sebastopol wedding, at the serene Vine Hill House, did not disappoint. There was gorgeous light, deep, genuine emotion, and pure joy. Natalie was glowing with happiness all day. She was simply magnetic. Luminous. We couldn’t take our eyes off her. And Cody exhibited all the attributes that attracted Natalie to him in the first place – kindness, weirdness, fun, and 100% complete adoration of his bride.
If we gave out awards, Natalie and Cody would win for most newlywed makeout sessions on the dance floor. Instead of splitting up and visiting with guests as many couples do, they spent most of the reception together, on the dance floor, usually with locked lips. And if they weren’t kissing, they were laughing.
Someone remarked at the rehearsal dinner that Natalie and Cody make love look so easy. And it’s true. It was inspiring to watch them flirt with each other, love and respect one another, while also having the most fun of anyone there. I get the feeling the rest of their life will be like that too.
