This day was a long time coming for us, and an even longer time for high-school sweethearts Noreen and Beck.
Back in 2008, Ben and I shot our first Santorini wedding for a New York couple, Caroline and Manny, who had met by being members of the Harvard Glee Club. Another member of that club, Meg, attended Caroline and Manny’s Greece wedding, and we got some great photos of Meg jumping off a pirate ship into the Mediterranean Sea.
Meg is Beck’s sister, and introduced him to our work from that Santorini wedding. Fast-forward four years, and we found ourselves in Beck’s hometown of Dallas for his small, intimate wedding to the intelligent, hilarious, beautiful Noreen.
Noreen and Beck were one of the most laid-back couples we have ever photographed. Their Warwick Melrose Hotel wedding ceremony was held in the same suite where Noreen had had her hair and makeup done that morning. Their immediate families, and a few very close friends, were the only ones present. But the guest list blossomed to around 150 for their Hall of State wedding reception. We loved shooting in this famous art-deco building, and we loved watching Noreen lead the dancing all night.
Noreen and Beck, thanks for being so real, and for allowing us to document this day for you. Hope to see you in Dallas again soon!
