We are wedding photographers based in Charleston, South Carolina, but have photographed many weddings in Mexico over the years. This Mexico wedding took us to Puerto Vallarta for a bride who had been following our work since 2008.
Villa La Mansion Wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Kelly is a person who knows what she wants. She doesn’t settle. She waits. And for one of the biggest decisions of her life, that steady patience paid off.
Luckily for us, we were one of the things Kelly knew she wanted long before she even met David. In 2008 (14 years ago!) Kelly saw her friend Carrie’s wedding photos from Tulum that Ben had photographed in May of that year, and decided Ben would be her wedding photographer someday. But she wasn’t in any rush to get married. She spent the next years focused on her career and building a solid, successful life for herself. She traveled the world and lived life to the fullest. As her father mentioned in his toast, the only thing missing was a partner to share that life with.
How it All Began
David and Kelly found themselves at the same dinner party one night at Original Joe’s in San Francisco. Kelly took one look at David and immediately asked her friend, “Is that guy single?” Kelly’s friend then wandered over to David and whispered, “You have an admirer here.” They went out that very night after dinner, and have been inseparable ever since.
Their wedding at Villa La Mansion in Puerto Vallarta was a multi-day celebration of love and friendship. It says a lot that Kelly and David have such loyal friends, many of whom have stuck by them most of their lives. David’s best man, Pete, has been David’s best friend since birth (their mothers were flight attendants together and were close friends themselves). At the reception, we sat at a table of David’s clients (he’s a personal trainer and nutritionist), one of whom has worked with David for 14 years (hi, Ted!).
Worth The Wait
These two are adored, respected and loved by their people, including us. We photographed them for four days – two official days, and two pool days where we got to hang out with their amazing crew, sipping cocktails and swapping stories. It was a weekend that was a long time coming, and it lived up to every expectation.
Our resident genius videographer, Vlad, was with us for it all. Definitely check out his teaser film: Villa La Mansion Wedding Video
