Sheena and Sam met in Hong Kong while Sam was in town for business. Sheena was a friend-of-a-friend who offered to take Sam out and show him around the city. Apparently they hit it off so well that Sam never left Hong Kong, and it’s where this fun, fashionable, lively couple now share a life.
We initially met Sheena and Sam via Skype, when it was evening for us and morning for them. Sheena was dealing with a champagne hangover. Which led to a long conversation about how much we both love champagne. And somewhere in there we actually got around to talking about weddings and photography.
We loved these two right from the start, and only hoped they would love us back 🙂
With help from the creative, quirky and yet always super-sophisticated team at Alison Events, Sheena and Sam held a three-day destination wedding extravaganza in Napa Valley, culminating with a white-clad croquet brunch on Sunday (our first-ever croquet shoot!). Their Meadowood wedding day was idyllic with a mostly outdoor setting, and a gorgeously lit tented dinner.
We were so excited to be part of this wedding. Thank you to our Bermuda wedding groom Ethan, who told Sheena and Sam about us and who also was one of the main stars on the dance floor at Sheena and Sam’s wedding. That’s Ethan shimmying up against Sheena in the black-and-white reception photo.
Sheena and Sam made the wise decision to have our destination wedding videographer Vlad Chaloupka create a wedding film for them from all three days of their wedding. We had a great time with Vlad (and Michael Reed, who was second camera), giving this awesome couple the full Chrisman Studios documentary experience!
