This Estate Yountville wedding has been in the works since 2022, when Bruce reached out to us saying he planned to propose to Stephen and wanted photographs of it. Stephen, he said, was a professional photographer in Raleigh and loved our work. The couple live in Raleigh together but love traveling to California for wine-tasting trips.
Bruce proposed to Stephen at Progeny Vineyard in Napa, and Ryan photographed the beautiful moment by the reflecting pool, as well as engagement photos afterward.
When it was time to plan the wedding, Bruce and Stephen again turned to California, this time at The Estate Yountville. They had a gorgeous Fall wedding in November, where The Estate Yountville was filled with rich autumn colors. They chose to have an outdoor ceremony, where the brilliant colors made for a stunning backdrop just beyond their wedding arch.
Wine featured prominently at the wedding. Guests were able to grab a glass to drink during the ceremony. In addition, Bruce and Stephen made their recessional holding champagne flutes. They held on to their glasses for their portrait time with Ryan around the Estate grounds.
Afterward, guests were treated to dinner and dancing in the modern ballroom. We love the design elements of The Estate Yountville, especially the chandeliers in the ballroom – some more abstract, some complete circles. Stephen and Bruce brought in their own lighting as well, which made for a colorful nightclub atmosphere.
Yountville is hard to beat as a wedding location any month of the year. However, the best time to have your wedding at The Estate Yountville would be October or November, to take advantage of those amazing Fall colors for your ceremony and portraits.
So grateful to Bruce and Stephen for trusting us with both their proposal and wedding in wine country. We loved every minute of celebrating their love with them.
