The Planning Consultation: Before you step in front of the camera, we discuss what’s important to you, what you want to remember about who you are and who you love right now, and how we can create photographs that you will look at the rest of your life with such pride.
The Studio Session: A relaxed, guided, and extremely fun experience where we focus on capturing natural movement and authentic expressions. Nothing stiff. Nothing posed. Just authentic pictures that matter.
The Gallery Reveal: We’ll create a personal design consultation experience in our studio, where we’ll help you select your favorite photographs and turn them into premium prints, heirloom albums, or custom wall art.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do studio sessions typically last?
Our portrait sessions are never rushed. A typical session lasts about an hour. This gives everyone—especially young kids—plenty of time to warm up, relax, and play in front of our cameras.
What should we wear to our portrait session?
We recommend choosing clothing that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Solid, neutral colors, earthy tones, and rich textures (like knits, denim, or linen) photograph beautifully against our studio backdrops. We generally suggest avoiding heavy patterns or large logos so that the focus stays entirely on your expressions and connection.
How far in advance should we book?
We have families hire us months in advance, but usually it’s just a few days or weeks. Sometimes it’s even the next day. There are three of us who work out of the studio every day – Ben, Erin, and Matt – so we can accommodate almost anyone’s schedule, rain or shine.

Fully retouched, digital files are also available for all your pictures.
Where is your portrait studio located?
Our fully equipped professional portrait studio is located just five minutes north of our favorite Mexican restaurant, Santi’s, in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Our address is 2681 Spruill Avenue, North Charleston, SC. It is a private, comfortable space designed to feel like a living room rather than a sterile commercial set, complete with private changing areas and amenities to keep your family comfortable, including a theater room and lots and lots of snacks.
