Fusion weddings are weddings that honor and celebrate two different cultures through dual wedding ceremonies, combinations of different customs, and sometimes different forms of entertainment at the reception that represent each religion or country.
The most common fusion wedding we photograph is someone of Indian descent marrying someone of Western descent, often with a Christian or Jewish ceremony combined with a traditional Indian ceremony. That often means wardrobe changes for the bride and groom and long, fun days of different ceremonies and celebrations.
One of the most interesting fusion weddings we have photographed was Mimi and Stuart's Scottish and Indian wedding, in which the couple wore traditional Indian clothes for the ceremony, then changed into a kilt and white wedding gown for the reception. The reception featured Scottish dancers as well as Indian dancers.
