Sarah and Avik’s classic, elegant, New York City wedding echoed the kind of people they are – graceful, stately, sophisticated.
Both Sarah and Avik have lost their fathers, so their mothers walked each of them down the aisle at Saint Thomas Church. The pride and emotion each of their mothers felt was evident in their expressions the entire day. After the hourlong service, everyone was treated to a tour around Manhattan in double-decker buses, while en route to the reception at India House.
Guests danced to a jazz band and ended the evening serving themselves dessert out of an ice-cream cart brought inside the India House. I love that Sarah and Avik blended a bit of whimsy into their white-tie wedding. This was a day that celebrated their love for each other, their love for their friends and family, and their love for the great city of New York.
