Matt’s photography journey has been a lifelong passion, starting with a basic Kodak disposable camera and growing into a seasoned professional with fifteen years of experience.
Hailing from the gray skies of New Hampshire, Matt’s love for photography began in his hometown, where he learned to see stories in every setting. In 2008, he traded cold winters for the warmth of Charleston, SC, a city bursting with natural beauty that inspired him to explore its hidden gems.
The move to Charleston marked a turning point in Matt’s career, as he found inspiration in the
city’s vibrant landscapes and diverse culture. This change of scenery not only broadened his
horizons but also deepened his passion for photography. Working in a studio helped him find
his unique voice in photography. Through a mutual friend, Matt connected with Ben and Erin
in the world of photography, leading him to Chrisman Studios, where he continues to evolve
professionally.
In 2021, Matt and his wife had an intimate backyard wedding on Halloween, creating a loving
home with their five cats in Charleston. In his personal life, Matt’s love story with his wife is a
beautiful reflection of his belief in capturing genuine moments. Their intimate backyard
wedding and later celebration with loved ones showcase his commitment to authenticity and
meaningful connections.
