There’s a lot to say about April and Boz, and I’m not sure there’s enough space to say it.
I could start with the fact that April is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Or I could start by mentioning Boz’s illustrious career as the Director of Engineering at Facebook (You know Timeline and Messenger? Yeah, he created those, among many other big Facebook features). Or I could simply talk about what a kickass wedding they had at one of California’s best wedding venues.
But I’ll just say this. We have gotten to know April and Boz pretty well over the past year, starting with a meeting at a bar that felt more like hanging out with friends, continuing with their StonePine Estate engagement session where we spent an entire weekend with them, and then their Fourth of July pool party. When their wedding day finally arrived, we felt like we were just two of their friends, getting choked up along with everyone else seeing April enter the ceremony on a white horse, and hearing Boz’s voice crack during his vows.
These two are special to us, and it was really something to witness the raw emotion, the joy and the fantastic dance party that all unfolded on this milestone of a day. We were beyond honored to get to work with Rebecca Réategui Weddings & Special Events for the first time. Rebecca and Marisa are kind, patient, extremely fun people who know how to bring the party, and make it beautiful to boot. They stayed till the very end, even sharing drinks and a few shimmies with us at the afterparty.
Lastly, I have to give April and Boz props for making the decision to hire Vlad Chaloupka for their wedding film. They gave him a lot to work with, and he did them proud with a video that is true to the beauty and emotion of the day, and showed the party in all its hilarious glory. Bear suit and all.
