It is always a thrill to photograph an Indian wedding – the colors, the music, the dancing, the ancient traditions. But an Indian wedding in Mexico? It doesn’t get much better than that. Mauricio and Aaron teamed up to photograph Navita and Manu’s destination wedding in Cabo, with two days of festivities including a Sangeet sunset cruise the first night.
“We always knew we wanted to have our wedding ceremony on a beach,” Navita said. “Since one of our hometowns would be a destination wedding for half of our guests anyway, we thought why not make it paradise?”
They chose the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort in Los Cabos, which provided a stunning backdrop for the emotional ceremony and energetic dance party that followed. “We thought it was beautiful,” Navita said. “We loved the architectural style, it was very authentically Mexican, and the view of the ocean felt completely serene.”
Despite the perfection of the venue and the utter paradise that is Cabo, the wedding wasn’t without its share of inconvenient surprises. “We got trapped in the elevator the night before the big day,” Navita said. “Of course this could only happen to the bride and groom! Luckily the hotel staff were able to get the elevator working again and the crisis was averted. I suppose you have to be prepared for anything at your wedding!”
