Where to Take Photos on Daniel Island
- Daniel Island Club: This private club is one of the gems of Daniel Island. Its beautiful, expansive clubhouse is host to weddings and events. Moreover, the grounds of the club are stunningly beautiful, with a wooden pathway that leads to a dock over the marsh. The club receives gorgeous golden light in the late afternoon, and there is a lot of space to explore to achieve different backgrounds for your photos.
- Pirate Park: Pirate Park is a big playground with woodsy areas around it. It’s perfect for a family with young children who need stimulation! We can let the kids play a bit, photographing them on the playground, and also pull them away from time to time to get posed family photos in the green spaces around the park.
- Smythe Park: Daniel Island’s largest park, Smythe Park features walking trails, an 11-acre lake with a kayak dock, and picnic areas. Pirate Park is located within Smythe Park.
- Waterfront Park: Located directly on the Daniel Island waterfront, this spacious park has swings, a hammock garden, and a water fountain play area. It’s so nice to stroll by the water, let the kids play on the playground, and walk along the boardwalk hiking paths.
- Your home! Sometimes, the best backdrop for family photos is your very own home. For family photos at people’s homes, we’ll either photograph in the front or back yard (depending on where the light is), inside your home (think: kids in their element, in their playroom, in their favorite, familiar spots where they feel most natural and relaxed). Also, we will usually go on a little walk around your neighborhood or to the kids’ favorite play area nearby. That could be a park, a marsh area, an open field – anything that is part of your life on Daniel Island!
What to Look for in a Daniel Island Photographer
When looking for a Daniel Island photographer, choose someone whose photos resonate with you. Can you envision yourself in these photos? Does it look like the children are having fun and being themselves in these photos? We create photos that are unique to you. Before coming out to Daniel Island for your photo session, we will have a phone conversation where you tell us all about you and your family, and what is most important to you. For business headshots on Daniel Island, we will have a phone call with you to learn about your business. Once we hear about your passion and dedication to your work, it will be easy to determine where to take your photos and the type of mood and energy that should be incorporated in them. For example, if you’re a Daniel Island Realtor, we want to know what areas you serve so we can photograph you there, in the context of the neighborhoods that you know like the back of your hand. For other businesses, we may do your headshots inside your office or retail space so clients see you within the space where they’ll be doing business with you.
