Erin Chrisman is a Charleston wedding, family, and maternity photographer.
Telling stories has been in Erin’s blood since she was old enough to pick up a pen.

After a caring high-school teacher told her she had a gift for writing, she set off on a path to become a journalist, spending her first six years out of college as a newspaper copy editor and reporter. Over time, she gravitated toward photography as well, which naturally lead to wedding photography, where her love of storytelling swelled to an outright obsession. Through the beautiful, one-of-a-kind family celebrations she is fortunate enough to be invited to, she loves seeing the depth of human relationships and discovering what is most important to people – in their lives, and even on this one day.

She loves the connection that develops between photographer and subject, the thrill of beautiful light, seeing raw emotion unfold before her eyes – and blending it all together inside her camera. It’s an honor she will always be in awe of.

Erin was a wedding photographer in Atlanta for four years before she met Ben in 2007 at a photographer’s wedding in Mexico, where both were guests (for once!). Over time, they fell in love and rearranged their lives to be together. Erin moved from Atlanta, and Ben moved from Santa Fe, and they settled in San Francisco, where they spent seven years building Chrisman Studios together and traveling the world photographing weddings.
Erin and Ben now live in Charleston, South Carolina with Roxy, their spunky, inquisitive daughter who loves to dance. When she’s not photographing weddings and portrait sessions, or playing with Roxy, Erin can be found with her head in a book and making time for consistent yoga practice.

Erin is a proud Fujifilm photographer and Profoto Legend of Light.
