The church has been an important part of Brent and Clifton’s lives – and especially their relationship – so it was an easy decision for them to have both their ceremony and reception at Trinity St. Peter’s in San Francisco. Though they now live in Kansas City, they fell in love in San Francisco and got engaged at Lake Tahoe. So coming back to the Bay Area was the natural choice for such a milestone day in their lives.
The two met and became friends through separate business trips to China in 2010. They lived in separate cities but kept in touch over the years. Then in 2013, Brent ended up moving from Dallas to the Bay Area, where Clifton lived. The two got to know each other better by attending the same church, Freedom in Christ Evangelical Church. Brent was the worship leader there, and Clifton served on the evangelism committee and also played in the church worship band. They started dating in 2014, and moved a year later to Kansas City for Brent’s job.
Before the ceremony, Brent and Clifton and their friends walked around downtown San Francisco, taking photos on cable cars, with street musicians and mixing with the Saturday crowds on a beautiful, sunny Saturday.
After the ceremony, Clifton led the charge on the dance floor, starting with the mother-son dance. And that dance floor stayed packed until the end.
